designing communicative tasks

Books for TBL | Danyal Freeman | June 27th, 2003

I need a book to help me design communicative tasks for adult intermediate learners. The Nunan book (Designing Tasks for the Communicative Classroom) looks the most promising. Does anyone have any feedback on this or other recommendations. I'm familiar with the methodology and want something with more "money" than "mouth."

Thanks,

Danyal

Hi,

I can't think of anything better than Willis's "A Framework for Task-Based Learning". I happen to be looking for the same thing as I'm currently doing my CSD assignment but unfortunately most of the books I encounter are out of stock and can't get them. This was the only one I got and I like. I've ordered two more from Amazon.uk, but I don't know if they are really relevant.

Best regards,

Hi,

One more book with lots of communicative tasks is 'Process and Experience in the Language Classroom" (Legutke & Howard). There are a lot of tasks, reference to task sequence, selection criteria for classroom activities, and a lot more.
