Assignment Submission Deadline

Assignment Submission Deadline | Jerry Talandis Jr. | October 5th, 2003

The October 15th deadline is fast approaching for submission of assignments. Does this deadline mean assignments need to arrive at

Aston BY October 15th, or that they be POSTMARKED by then? Of course,

I'm hoping for the latter! It takes about a week for mail to get from

Japan to the UK, so I'd appreciate an extra week to finish up my DE assignment.

Does anyone know for sure?

Thanks,

Jerry

Re: Assignment Submission Deadline question | Colin | October 5th, 2003

Hi Jerry

My understanding is that you can submit any time and that if you miss a deadline then all that happens is that your mark doesn't get officially registered until the next deadline.

My TD assignment was sent off and feedback received outside the 'deadline' season, as far as I remember.

I also get the impression that tutors would prefer not to have a 'slew' of assignments land on their desks all around deadline day - which I suspect is going to happen anyway! I think the only real deadline, in the absolute sense of the word, is the five-year one for completion of the DISS (rapidly looming for me, EEK!).

Hope that answers your question - I'd take an extra week if it's going to improve the quality of what you do.

Hi

This is just to back up Graham's point. We always try to turn around assignments as quickly as possible, whenever they arrive, but marking dates are the only times we actually promise a three-week turnaround.

You can usually expect a quicker one whenever you submit, unless the assignment arrives during a vacation period.

The timing is from the date of arrival, when they're date stamped.

The only issue here is exam boards: so anything stamped after 15

October will go before the June board rather than the November board.

Hope that helps

All the best

Keith
